Every week the NFL seems to suffer more losses to injury. With the new hit policy, defensive players are hitting offensive players in the knee area. This has resulted in multiple season ending injuries that involve the knee. Ray Anderson, chief of football operations said that they are looking into this problem and keeping a close eye on it. Since it is becoming a problem, the NFL will probably have to consider more options that can protect defenseless players.There have already been a total of 40 season ending ACL injuries this year. That is a number that has to change. It is going to be tough for the NFL to protect the players. It is hard to choose between a season ending knee injury or a concussion that can ultimately lead to serious brain problems.
I think the NFL has its hand's full. It is important too keep football a contact sport but it is difficult to create a perfect work environment. These players are supposed to be protected by the NFL, and when you have players dropping like flies it is a matter you want to solve quickly. I think the NFL will implement rules on hits like the one above in the future. It is just unfortunate that so many had to suffer knee injuries that are sometimes very hard to recover from.

Players are not only getting hurt from the new hit policy, but players are also getting fined because of it. It is hard to hit a moving target as we all know, and sometimes missing the mark means a fine for a defensive player in the NFL. The defensive players in the NFL have a hard time making a good play without a penalty.Defense involves a lot of force, but hitting people the wrong way is going to draw a penalty and possibly impact the outcome of a game. I think that they should be allowed to play with force, because a lot of people think that football would not be as appealing if the contact was out of it.
